We created a 360 brand strategy for Denver-based CBD brand targeted at women, Press Pause. They needed help developing their brand in line with their ambition to elevate to the global stage.

Borne out of the founder’s own anxiety, Press Pause had been trading for a few years before we redefined their brand to inspire on both sides of the Atlantic.

With an overall brand focus on real women – their beauty, their struggles, their humour, their pause moments, and everything in between – we wanted to ensure our imagery was ‘real’ yet aspirational. And every now and again, with a little tongue-in-cheek humour added for good measure ;) ‘Retouching’ was natural, purposefully allowing pores, stubble and imperfections to shine through.

With the CBD space being difficult to navigate digitally, we also covered off still life imagery and made the most of the natural ingredients that were in our products.

We value sustainability and being kind to our environment. After all, nature is where we draw our CBD from. All our cartons and marketing material are FSC-certified; our glassware is all-virgin premium-grade cosmetic glass; our droppers and lids are silicone, glass and virgin plastic respectively; our pouches are environmentally-friendly versions; we ensure all our packaging is 100% recyclable and contains no PVC plastic.

Though our packaging is primarily white, the uncoated gravure finish of the cartons provides tactility whilst each SKUs’ specifically-sourced pattern maintains the brand’s personality, giving the consumer a surprise unboxing moment.

The new website sees a cleaner layout, leaning on an editorial aesthetic. With fewer pages, there are much less clicks to purchase and a cleaner navigation panel makes it easier for the consumer to find the relevant information they’re searching for.

We also introduce the Knowledge Hub with the website relaunch. Initially designed to drive SEO and traffic to our site, the Knowledge Hub holds host to editorial content, CBD 101s Q&As and real stories from real women. Maintaining integrity, all our content is informative, backed by scientific sources and we do not make claims we are uncomfortable making.

Social media is our playground and where we can really push our personality. This is a great place to speak directly to our customer, frankly and honestly, about anything and everything.

We also implemented a digital strategy that focused on the robust database from previous years of Press Pause trading.
